Scott Lowther
scott.lowther@sandiegocbc.org
Pastor Scott is the Senior Pastor of Community Bible Church. His duties include teaching from the pulpit, spiritual direction, serving alongside the elder board, leading the staff, and shepherding the flock with the pastoral staff.
Pastor Scott joined CBC in 2005. He oversees the singles, college group, CBCBI, Cover 2 Cover and the three ministries under the "Care, Share & be There" umbrella. He teaches in our bible institute, membership class, small groups, and occasionally for the young adult group (House of Worship) on Sunday evenings with Pastor Ray. His passion is discipleship, worship and outreach. Scott does much of the counseling at the church and has a reputation as a straight shooter in the Word. As he has said on many occasions "I am blessed to have a great family and many close friends at CBC. Why the Lord would allow me to be involved in His work is beyond me as I'm just a worm saved by grace".

Wayne Sheets
wayne.sheets@sandiegocbc.org
Pastor Wayne is the children's pastor at CBC. Pastor Wayne and his wife, Sarah, have a heart's desire for Kids. The Kids Quest program provides dynamic teaching for all ages which instills biblical values and principles from God's Word. Each week children will come and will be taught the Word of God using many different methods to reach into the heart of each child.
God blessed my life at the very young age of five years old. It was at that time that I received Christ as my personal Savior when a Sunday school teacher shared Jesus's love, grace and forgiveness to our class one Sunday. Years later after finishing my schooling from Biola University and Talbot Seminary I was called to the pastorate as a children's Pastor where I have worked in both small and large churches for over twenty years.
I met my lovely wife, Sarah, while doing ministry. In 1991 we were married and now Sarah and I continue to partner together in serving children and their parents. In August of 2005 the Lord called me to serve at CBC. My passion at CBC is to equip kids to love and serve the Lord.

Facilities Director

|
John Hammond
jhammond@sandiegocbc.org
You can find John at the Sunday services and during the week maintaining the CBC facilities. He is available for questions or comments regarding our facilities.
"I am a product of Midwestern farm life. My father was a rural mail carrier and I loved to accompany him as he pastored small farm community churches on weekends. I met my wife, Beverly, at an American Baptist College in South Dakota. We have enjoyed fifty years being together serving God. After I graduated from electronics school, we moved to San Diego to start our family. We have four grown sons, one daughter and eight grandchildren.
After working in the aerospace industry for eight years, I began a new career in the construction industry. After supervising the building of thousands of homes in San Diego County along with multiple land development projects, I retired from the building industry.
Retirement lasted about two days when I was asked if I would like to volunteer at CBC and eventually manage the CBC campus. All those years in construction provided a vast building knowledge including everything from parking lots to all the various skilled trades. There is no greater pleasure than a work day doing something you love.
More importantly than my dedication to our building and grounds is my commitment to mentoring young men in my charge. I like to serve as father figure, teacher, life coach, friend and more to a collection of folks that society would write off as hopeless, fostering in them hope and the desire to know God more. How much better could it be than that?"

Gene French
GSFrench@aol.com
Pastor Gene is the founding Pastor of CBC. You can find him each week at the Heritage Worship Venue located in room 700.
Pastor Gene had a desire to reach the Mira Mesa-Scripps Ranch area with the gospel of Christ and in 1984 he saw that desire become a church, growing from a handful of families in a living room to a vibrant church of over 150 by the late 1990's. The values CBC is built on -- Biblical Authority, Loving Others, Community, Giving, Reaching Others for Christ, Worshiping God and Spiritual Growth -- have been rooted in the life of Dr. French through years of faithful service, Bible study and leadership.
Pastor Gene is an active participant in the growth of the church and of our members. He pastors the weekly Heritage Chapel Worship Venue, and continues to shepherd the members who attend there. You can find Pastor Gene serving and continuing his vision to reach the community for Christ, each Sunday morning at 9:00 a.m in Room 700.
