The purpose of the worship ministry at CBC is to lead the people of this church into a lifestyle of worship.
Our mission is to see people worship the Lord, not only on Sundays, but also throughout the life that they lead the rest of the week. We strive to create an atmosphere in every worship service that draws people into the presence of the Lord, and allows Him to minister to their needs through His presence in their lives.
Worship Venues:
CBC Main is our central worship service featuring passionate, experiential contemporary music and live preaching from Pastor Scott three times each weekend! 5:15pm Saturdays, 9am & 11am on Sunday mornings.
Heritage Chapel: A small church atmosphere in an intimate setting, Heritage is our traditional venue featuring the great familiar hymns and timeless gospel songs of the church. Special music from gifted musicians is a frequent part of the service! Dr. Gene French, CBC's founding pastor, shepherds this intimate flock at 9am on Sunday mornings in Room 700.
House of Worship: Featuring loud & edgy rock worship and live preaching, House of Worship is the young adults service at CBC and takes place every Sunday night in the main sanctuary!
Leadership
Brendan Prout - CBC Worship Pastor
Brendan oversees the worship ministries at CBC and most often can be found leading worship at the Main sanctuary, although he does enjoy leading at our other venues when ever he can moonlight at them! Brendan lives in Mira Mesa with his wife Susie and their 'hobbits', Jay and Annika. He is a Navy brat, an avid fan of Star Wars & sci-fi, as well as a enthusiast and chef. So say we all.

Nina Haynes - Womens Worship Team Leader
Nina leads worship at our Womens Ministry events, conferences and retreats, and has a heart to help pther women use their musical talents to worship God.

John Culea - Heritage Worship Leader
John leads worship in our most traditional setting, Heritage Chapel, which meets in room 700 on Sunday mornings at 9am! He has a gift for bringing fresh heart to vintage music, and blessing our church with an old timey family approach to praising God. John is currently enjoying retirement, but formerly served as spokesman for the County Board of Supervisors, and you may recognize him from his time on KFMB-TV News!

Sam Hornedo - Worship Leader
Sam has been leading worship for many years at a variety of San Diego churches including Horizon, Coast Christian Fellowship and now CBC! He lives in Scripps Ranch with his wife and daughters, and can often be found around town performing as a singer/songwriter, or at community events dressed as a Star Wars character!

Jen Adams - Hula Praise Leader
Jen's heart is to help others learn to express worship through Hawaiian and Polynesian dance: Hula Praise! She is a dance instructor, percussionist, and worshiper after God's heart.

Thomas Easterling - Worship Leader
Thomas leads the gospel music group Voices of Joy, along with musical director Priscilla Manion. He has a love for gospel and traditional music and bringing that out into the community, but his real passion is serving the Lord and serving others. He can often be found volunteering around CBC on the weekends, and occasionally leading worship at Heritage Chapel!

Dylan Burcombe - Worship Leader
Dylan leads worship for several ministries including Ampt56, Impact710, House of Worship, and one of our outreach teams. He is studying sound engineering in college, and also leads worship at different venue's in San Diego as well at events like Spirit West Coast.

Special Worship Events
Encounter is a quarterly event where the only agenda is worship! Typically taking place on a Friday evening in the Main sanctuary, it is a concert of worship for the whole church to come spend time in God's presence without the time constraints of a Sunday morning service.
Our 2012 Encounter events are scheduled to take place on February 17, April 20, June 22, August 17, and November 16 at 7pm in the Main sanctuary!
In addition to Encounter, we have special guests in concert several times throughout the year, and a series of monthly Worship Workshops designed to help worship musicians develop their skills. Please contact Pastor Brendan for more information on these events!

Roadmap
We love to include new people! Normally we will meet with new folks one on one to get to know you, and extend the invitation to begin attending our rehearsals. Once we have gotten a sense of who you are in terms of the requirements listed below, and seen how well you gel with the team - an evaluation process that usually takes a few weeks to a month - we'll begin scheduling you with the teams.

Requirements
Read and agree with the CBC Statement of Faith (aka What We Believe) on the About Us page): read and agree with the CBC Philosophy of Worship (available for download at the bottom of this page). Fill out a CBC Ministry Application (available for download at the bottom of this page) and submit to the Worship Pastor: personal interview with the Worship Pastor: regularly attend rehearsals.
