Pastor Wayne is the children's pastor at CBC. Pastor Wayne and his wife Sarah have a passion to help kids grow in Christ. The Kids Quest program provides dynamic teaching for all ages which instills biblical values and principles from God's Word. Each week children will be taught the Word of God using many different methods to reach into the heart of each child. "God has blessed my life with incredible parents who model God's love and service to the Lord. Because of this spiritual heritage and God grace at a very young age of five years old I received Christ as my personal Savior when a Sunday school teacher shared Christ love, grace and forgiveness to our class. Years later after finishing my schooling from Biola University and Talbot Seminary I was called to the pastorate as a children's pastor where I have worked in both large and small churches.
"I met my lovely wife Sarah while doing ministry. In 1991 we were married and now Sarah and I continue to partner together in serving children and their parents. In August of 2005 the Lord called me to serve here at CBC. My passion at CBC is to partner with parents and their children, to reach as many boys and girls as possible for Christ, to equip kids to serve the Lord and to make our time together at our Awana, Saturday and Sunday Kids Quest services the greatest hours of every child's week."
Safety and Check-In Procedures
KidsQuest is a place where kids can grow and learn to love God in an environment where they are kept safe. Below are ways we strive keep our kids safe.
Every teacher and helper has been screen by filling out a CBC Children's Ministry application, been personally interviewed and has had a thorough background check.
State of the Art Technology:
Our buildings have state of the art technology. All our hallways are equipped with cameras for your safety.
Electronic Check-In and Out:
Our rooms are equipped with electronic finger scanners built to check in and check out the children. With a simple placement of your finger on the scanner your family will show up on the computer screen. Proceed to highlight the children that you are checking in and a name tag will print out. Simply place the name tag on your child and you have completed the process. Repeat the process to to check the child out of the room.
Visitor Check In:
The process for first and second time visitors is to check-in at the KidsQuest booth located outside in front of the main church building. The Staff at the booth will ask you to fill out a short one page form and will direct you to your child's designated classroom. This process is easy and painless so that you may get to the main worship service as quickly as possible. "The Quest for God's Truth"
The Kids Quest Teacher team will teach students to adventure with God's Word to learn about God's love, protection and the plan He has for them. They will be on a quest to learn Bible stories each week and how they apply in their lives. Our Goal is that each child will also learn the basics of how to skillfully use the Bible and understand how to face life's challenges.
The Worship Team leads students into worshipful praise time at the beginning of each service. Students will learn to praise the one true God as they sing a variety of songs geared around their understanding. The worship team also presents an opportunity for kids to be in the Kids Quest Choir. Performances are twice a year in the spring and fall. If you would like your son or daughter to be in the Kids Quest Choir email Pastor Wayne or call (858) 549-7729.
Our Registration team helps visitors and church members register their kids in our weekend service. Registration takes place at the Kid's Quest Booth located at CBC. If you are new to our church please start the registration and check-in process at the Kids Quest booth.
Our media team services the Kid's Quest class rooms through PowerPoint presentations and by keeping the computer and sound equipment in good working order. The media team also provides service to our electronic check-in kiosk.
