Rejoicing in Hope

Rom 5:1-2 “Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God."

Dear CBC Family,

Thank you all for your prayers and kind words with the pinched nerve I’ve been struggling with in my back. God, in his grace, gave me an epidural shot yesterday. I can sympathize with all you ladies who have had them giving birth. The Dr said “a little discomfort now, for a lot of relief later.” That line stuck in my head and when I went to the Bible I saw why.

Rom 5:1-3 “Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance.” Verse three says pretty much what my doctor did. It was from this I saw the deep tie with hope a fresh. That will be the subject of our study this weekend. I called the sermon “Rejoicing in Hope.”

There have been a few questions from our time together this last weekend so I am going to suggest a couple of things to solidify what we looked at. Here is a great video you might want to watch as it really gives some background into historic Christianity and what the Bible actually teaches regarding salvation. It also helps understand where the alternative view came from and what they actually held. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rdbLouq98L4

There are a lot of things coming up so make sure you check the calendar or give us a call at the office so we can steer you in the right direction.

Blessings,

Pastor Scott
