The rise of deception

Romans 7:11 "For sin, seizing an opportunity through the commandment, deceived me and through it killed me."

Dear CBC Family,

Last Sunday night we had a great time meeting together for the first time in 16 weeks. We met in the parking lot and dedicated the building to the glory of God. I felt that was what should have been done years ago and the Holy Spirit confirmed that many times over. If you missed out you will see a plaque in the future commemorating the date and event.

This weekend we will be in Romans 7 talking about the deceitfulness of sin from verse 11 “For sin, seizing an opportunity through the commandment, deceived me and through it killed me.” This study will be very eye-opening as we learn how sin operates in us by deception. You will not want to miss out here as once we learn the schemes of the world, flesh and the devil we are better equipped to stand strong and not be fooled.

Since the virus infections are way up this week (the highest since this pandemic began) we will not be opening the building for services yet. We are trying to be very careful and protect our church family. We feel it is too soon to go inside for service. However, we will have the Sunday night service at 6:00 PM in the parking lot again this weekend. The message will probably be the same as the one we record for the weekend online church. If you are healthy and want to join us bring your chair and come at 6:00 PM prompt.

I wanted to thank the folks who have stepped up and been helping around the church getting some of the things done that were needing attention. If you want to volunteer a few hours please call Pam at the office and see when the next work project is scheduled. Thanks again, this means a lot!

As the guidelines change almost daily it is very difficult to plan much further down the road then week by week. Please bear with us and pray for us that each step and decision will be the best one for the church family.

Pastor Scott,
